摘  要：长株潭城市群位于湖南省东北部，包括长沙、株洲、湘潭三市。是湖南省经济发展的核心增长极。长沙、株洲、湘潭三市沿湘江呈“品”字形分布，两两相距不足40公里，结构紧凑。长株潭城市群是我国京广经济带、泛珠三角经济区、长江经济带的接合部，区位和交通条件优越。城市作为区域经济的发动机，在区域经济发展中具有举足轻事的地位，城市发展离不开城市用地的扩展，土地是农业生产经营活动的基本生产资料。城市发展变化和城市化过程不仅表现在人口增加、经济发展和功能变化，更表现在城市空间结构的变化。因此，研究城市用地扩展的驱动力，有非常重要的现实意义。因此，以MAPGIS技术为支撑，研究长株潭城市群扩展，动态地把握土地利用变化的驱动力是揭示土地利用变化动力源的关键。
