Abstract: Context is the environment in which texts are produced. On the other hand, text is part of context. Context, including linguistic context, situational context and cultural context plays a very important role in text interpretation. This paper mainly discussed the contextual theory and the relationship between context and reading comprehension including the definition of context, classification of context, current status of context. Meanwhile, this paper has a detailed analysis of cultural context, and also illustrates the influence of cultural context on college English reading combined with college reading materials. At last, this paper explained how to enhance students' understanding on the materials which involved the cultural context.

摘 要:语境是语篇赖以生成的环境,语篇是语境的组成部分。在篇章解读过程中,语言语境、情景语境、文化语境都起着一定的作用,本文主要讨论了语境理论以及文化语境对大学英语阅读的影响。文章涉及语境的定义,分类以及研究现状。本文同时对语境中的文化语境做了详细的分析,结合大学英语阅读教材,阐明了文化语境对大学英语阅读的影响,并说明如何加强学生对阅读材料中涉及的文化语境的理解。
